Headphone repair

When headphones wear out it’s not unusual to effect the soft fabric parts only, so can eb saved by replacement, or you can prevent failure by some tactical application of superglue. In this post I’ll show how to repair and replace all parts of a high end Sony Bluetooth headset, WH-1000 X3.

Below you can se usual worn down foam and fabric, easily snap off and on replacement cubs, however next where indicated the design are particularly frail in these spots, resulting in complete failure avoided by some super glue.

Getting a replacement isn’t too hard, though the headband is usually harder to find and require some more work.

So:

Cut of the old headband
Snap on and screw on retainers and top/bottom part
Snap-of and Snap-on cups

No need to be harder than that really, consider this just a quick reminder that broken things can be fixed. Often only parts of products brake no use in discarding the totality for the failure of the detail.
